What I Found Out About Doubt

    by Rocherr

I carried doubt like a heavy chain,
Answered when it called my name.
Doubt gave me fears, tears, caused me to lose some years
    And a few fights—
Told me things were wrong when they felt so right.

Doubt appeared as my shadow and encouraged me to look down,
Painted my dreams with a frown.
Made me question, made me stall…
DOUBT! Made my vision look small,
And it made me feel I’d lose it all.

Like when I started my organization—
I started with fire in my chest,
My vision clear, but doubt still pressed.
I knew I had it deep inside,
But challenges disguised by doubt made me want to hide.

It screamed loud on quiet nights,
Shook my dreams and dimmed my lights.

    But…
Y’all know what I found out?
Doubt is not truth, it’s just a test.
And like truth, doubt is something you manifest.

    I’m beyond blooming,
    Healed, not broken—
    And I’m blessed!

And if I leaned into doubt, I’d never feel that.
I stopped feeding fear what it craved,
And started walking like Rocherr is my name—
Like a way had already been made.

Doubt can’t ride if I don’t let it.
So I replaced doubt with certainty,
    Confidence—
    And that be evidence
    Because I said it.
